Arts Alliance of Stratford Announces Its First Event at Sterling House
COVID-19 hasn’t stopped this nonprofit from fulfilling its mission
April 5, 2021 – Stratford, CT – The need to create didn’t stop when the pandemic hit, and neither did Arts Alliance of Stratford.
“We pivoted very quickly to online meetings, classes, and workshops, and we even launched new programming over the past year,” says Mark Hannon, President of the Alliance. “We are grateful to have such passionate members and supporters.”
In early 2020, the Alliance formed a partnership with Sterling House Community Center, a pillar of the Stratford community. The Alliance invested in making the room art-ready, but never had the opportunity to use the space until now. On Saturday, April 10th, the Alliance launches its inaugural event, their first Writer’s Group, to be held in their new home at Sterling House.
“Of course, there will be strict CDC mask adherence along with social distancing rules in place for the event. Anyone not wishing to come out in person can still attend the event via Zoom,” says Hannon.
The Arts Alliance is also busy planning for the first art show in the Gallery space. Our Call for Artists has gone out for the show beginning Sunday, May 23rd and running through Saturday, June 12th. And, we’re also getting ready for this years’ live Make Music Day on June 20th.
