Arts Alliance of Stratford to Sponsor Live Make Music Day Celebration

This Summer Solstice Event is Coming

June 4, 2022 – Stratford, CT – The Alliance continues its re-emergence with in-person activities as well as continuing its successful online activities. Especially exciting is this year’s Make Music Day which is free to the public and will be held for the 2nd time at Shakespeare Park from 4PM through 9PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. This is the Alliance’s 4th year producing this festival, which has drawn hundreds of people and continues to grow.

We are thrilled to present 6 music performances on 2 stages, 6 music workshops for all ages, food trucks and an Artisan’s Market around the circle of the driveway.

Come spend late afternoon and evening with us: enjoy the music and activities while taking in the beautiful views of the Housatonic River at sunset.

“We are grateful for the community’s support as we get back to normal. Working closely with the town of Stratford, and with the support of the Department of Economic and Community Development Office of the Arts which also receives support from the National Endowment of the Arts, a federal agency, The Stratford Community Fund, the Mighty Quinn Foundation, and Tom Dillon, we are able to bring this wonderful event to Stratford,” said Mark Hannon, President of the Alliance.

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music held around the world on the same day each year, falling on the Summer Solstice. It began in 1982 in France as Fete de la Musique and is now a global event in more than 1,000 cities and 120 countries.
