April Monthly Arts Networking Meeting
Theme Challenge: Rain
Join us at the March Monthly meeting of Arts Alliance of Stratford. Meet and network with other local creative people.
The March/April challenge is Rain.
We prize sunny days so we can enjoy a day at the park or the beach. Yet the rain, while keeping us inside or under umbrellas, sustains us; it fills our reservoirs and waters our gardens and farms to produce a bounty of fresh produce.
Some examples to spark ideas: rain can be a drizzle or a deluge. Rain forests depend on the rain to support the exotic plants and animals that live there. And when the rain doesn’t come, shamans perform sacred rain dances as an offering to end the drought. Businesses experiencing a slump may seek out a rain-maker, a person with special gifts who can make big contracts and profits materialize out of thin air.
You can use the photo of the lone figure on a bridge in the rain as a starting point to make it your own (download your own copy from pixabay.com), or follow your own inspiration and create something new and unexpected.
Grab your paints, pencils, writing pad or other creative implements and make something inspired based on Rain. Use the theme to create something unique. Follow your imagination where it takes you.
The challenge is open to visual art, writing, poetry, music or performance.
Each month the challenge theme is announced at the end of the monthly meeting. The finished challenge work will be presented at the following meeting.
