Strength In Colors: the Power of DiversityA community art show in partnership with Sterling House Community Center and the Stratford Library Association.

On-site viewing hours:
Monday through Friday, 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Saturday from 9:00am – 1:00 pm

Extended evening hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00 – 8:00 pm

The hours are subject to change in the event of any new Covid-related executive orders by the governor.

Masks and social distancing required on site.

The show will also be presented virtually on the Arts Alliance of Stratford website and our Facebook page.


The Alliance invites community artists of all ages to share their interpretation of the theme “Strength in Colors: the Power of Diversity.

With all the troubling news circulating, we encourage artists to show us what unites us, rather than what divides us. Visual art, framed written essays or poetry will be on display for the community to view in the newly renovated exhibition room at Sterling House Community Center during the hours listed above.

The show is open to members and non members of Arts Alliance of Stratford. There is a nominal entry fee for non-members. The show will not be juried, or judged but artists may offer their work for sale. There will be a “People’s Choice” award which will give the winning artist free entry into a future show.

Submission Instructions and Guidelines:

Electronic submissions only for this show during the pandemic for minimal contact. Submit your work (up to 2 pieces) through the form below.

Download, print out and complete our paper submission label(s) for each piece and bring it in with all accepted work.

Up to two pieces of two-dimensional art may be submitted. Maximum dimensions, 16″ X 20″, or 20″ in either dimension.

Pieces MUST be securely wired for hanging or they will not be accepted. This includes framed, prose and poetry submissions.

Dropoff of artwork (limited to which pieces have been accepted)

When notified of acceptance, art must be delivered to the exhibition room at:

Sterling House Community Center
293 Main Street, Stratford, on either:
Friday October 30th between 4:00 and 6:00 pm
Saturday, October 31st between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon

Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Acceptance to show

All work will be accepted on a first come/first served basis based on online submission date, until the gallery is full. Work will be screened for appropriateness in a public location as the center is open to and used by people of all ages, including children.


Members of the Alliance may submit up to two pieces with no fee.

Non-members: $10 for one piece; $12 for two pieces.
